The Winneshiek UTV ride was well attended. They were able to donate $12,000, split between 2 organizations. They plan to hold this ride each year, rotating whom the donations go towards.
Jamie and Krystal Cahalan are taking over the merchandise sales that Rusty Perkins previously did (Thank you Rusty for the good job that you did). They will be checking into the possibility of doing online sales. More information to come on that as it is researched.
The purchase of the land for the ATV UTV park fell through. The DNR has had a lot of turnover and they haven’t done this type of transaction. Because of all of the learning done from all parties, we didn’t make the time commitments. The land committee will keep their ears and eyes open for future possible sites. If anybody knows of anything, please bring it to the President or any members of the committee. Our OHV rep will talk to the DNR about creating a position for a person that specializes in these types of transactions (as other states have done). We did have some expenses associated with this for the appraisal and survey, but the applications have been submitted for us to recoup those expenses.
Ragbrai – we have applied for and are told that we will be receiving $4,000 for the Club to use within 18 months to purchase items (in our County) that will benefit the Club and the communities that we live in. Some thoughts are a small enclosed trailer that will hold tables and chairs for meetings, signs, banners, safety equipment, etc that we have. All ideas are welcomed. Please bring them to the Officers.
Election of Officers at the January meeting. Linda has stated that she will not be seeking a renewal of her Secretary position. Besides the 4 positions listed in the agenda, we will also be looking for someone to take over the Membership Secretary position (Don Herman said that he would be interested in this), and the Facebook Administrator.
Jamie and Jeremy’s terms are up on the Board.
All members are asked to think about possible candidates that would be a good fit for these positions. We have many talented members. It would be great for more of them to come forward to help the Club grow.
Motion to adjourn meeting made by Sara Miller, seconded by Dennis Herman.
