July 2025

Meeting Minutes

Date:           13 July 2025

Time:          12:30 pm

Location:    Dennis Herman’s Residence

Attendance: (72) members

A meeting of the General Membership was held and the meeting was called to order at  12:34pm by Chad.

Before the meeting agenda started, President Chad reminded the membership that we were here for both the meeting and post-bbq but also to do a Memorial ride  for our former member Julie Herman.

Chad asked everyone to thank the following for making this happen:

  • Dennis Herman for hosting us at his great home.
  • Rick and Carol Welper & Patrick and Dan Troendle for opening their land for the ride
  • The Red Barn- Jennetta and Terry for opening their doors again to the club

Chad announced that anyone that made a cash donation in the basket needed to make sure that they had a ticket for the drawing.  All funds raised would go to gas cards to support families in the county in need.  (Post meeting, the tally of funds collected were:  $2131- Amazing!)

Winners of the drawing for club gear- Congratulations and thank you for the donation!

  1. Eric Crapp
  2. Sheryl (sorry I didn’t catch the last name)
  3. Tim Kelly
  4. Bob Larkin

Chad Mentioned the club received thank you’s from the Fish Family and Sharon Decker family for our cards.

In addition, LA Communications gave a big shout out of thanks for helping with last year’s ride and a donation to the club of $500.

And the Waterville Fire Department is seeking volunteers for their ride.

Before concluding, Chad invited Dick Refshauge up.  Dick presented Krystal an AED device.  This winter he was on a UTV ride with some friends and fellow members when his heart stopped.  Krystal, along with several other CPR certified friends present, saved his life.  There happened to be an AED in a building near him- the crew nearly broke in a locked door to get it but the staff came in the nick of time to open the door. With the AED, his heart started again.  The group is now considered his heroes and everyone is glad he’s here to talk about it. CPR and AED training saves lives!

Any member can borrow the AED from Krystal if CPR certified.  This would be a great idea to have it along if riding in remote areas.

Old Business

  1. Update of maps. Maps were on out for viewing on the table. VP Krystal and annotated routes throughout the county and was looking for points of interest to add from the membership before going to print.  Feel free to reach out to the club to add.
  2. One last discussion on SMV signs. Attached is the print out of the DNR/DOT guidelines.  We are done reminding everyone.  We ask that you read it over.  Place the signs appropriately and follow the rules.

New Business

  1. Acquiring and collecting money for sponsorships on maps.  We had a Board of Directors meeting prior to this and discussed that we expect no income this year with the change of companies that will be handling the online and printing services previously voted on by the membership.  We expect that the following years will get back to a profit for the club.  There will be a 1 year membership and a discount for a 2 year membership.  If interested, reach out to the club.
  2. Discussing the state of the club’s finances.  In addition to the comments above, we do not have a large amount of liquid cash. It is tied up in CD’s.  At this time, we do not think we need to cash them in for the map transition, however, we may need to look at this in the future.
  3. Merch:  New shirt for sale and online clothing store  VP Krystal has a few new great items  on the online store.  She has this posted on Facebook if you would like to follow the link.  Tanks, Ts and Sweatshirt with a new design.  Sales close on 25 July.
  1. Possible dates for September’s meeting.  We will push the meeting to be before the Beardmore Ride in Sept.  There is not a cap of riders this year.  We will put an event out on Facebook and email out directions and details at the beginning of September.  Please mark calendars.
